Overview
The Mt. Vernon Airport Authority oversees the operation, maintenance, and development of the Mt. Vernon Outland Airport. The Authority ensures the airport continues to provide safe, efficient, and accessible aviation services for residents, visitors, and businesses in the region. The Airport Authority Commission was established in 1955.
Membership
The Commission consists of five members who each serve five-year terms.
- Three members appointed by the Mayor of Mt. Vernon with the advice and consent of the City Council.
- Two members appointed by the Jefferson County Board.
Meetings
Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at Mt. Vernon Outland Airport, 100 Aviation Drive, Mt. Vernon, Illinois 62864.
