Planning and Zoning Commission
The Planning and Zoning Commission is responsible for the governance and enforcement of the zoning regulations and for making recommendations to the City Council on subdivisions, annexations, conditional uses, and other ordinances associated with zoning matters.
Overview
The Planning and Zoning Commission was established by Chapter 161, Section 105 of the Mt. Vernon Revised Code of Ordinances. The commission consists of five members, appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. Each Commissioner serves a five-year term and must be a resident of the City of Mt. Vernon.
