Firefighter

Position Type: Full Time

Hours of Work: Twenty-four (24) hour shifts, with forty-eight (48) hours off in between.

Salary: $61,662 Annual Salary

Department: Fire Department

Under the direction of the Fire Chief or designee, the applicant responds to fires, responds to medical emergencies, and maintains municipal fire equipment. Applicants must be between the ages of 21 and 35 on the date of test, have a valid driver's license, be a U.S. Citizen, and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants will be required to pass a physical agility test, written exam, background/credit checks, and medical assessment with drug screen. EEO/ADA Employer. Laborer

Position Type: Full Time

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, 7 a.m. - 4 p.m., may require evening and weekends

Salary: $23.10 per hour w/CDL/$18.48 per hour no CDL and benefits

Department: Public Works

Closing Date: Open until filled

Applicants must be able to perform tasks related to the construction, repair, and maintenance of streets, sidewalks, stormwater systems, alleys, and rights-of-ways, work in inclement weather, and lift 80 lbs. A CDL is required within 6 months of hire, training will be provided by the city. Applications on file less than one year will be considered. Residency within Jefferson County, Illinois required.
