Testing:

• Date: Physical and written testing will take place on October 19, 2024.
• Physical Agility Test: 8 AM at Rolland W. Lewis Building @ City Park, 800 South 27th Street, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.
• Written Examination: Immediately following the agility test at Mt. Vernon Police Department, 600 South 27th Street, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.
• Preference points will be awarded for previous EMS/Fire service or certifications and military experience.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be between the ages of 21 and 35 on the date of the test (refer to Illinois Public Act 97-0251 for exceptions).
• U.S. Citizen.
