Public Notice: Unauthorized Solicitation Alert

Residents of Mt. Vernon,

We would like to inform you that unauthorized solicitors have been reported in our area. According to city regulations, all solicitors must possess a valid permit issued by the City of Mt. Vernon. They are required to adhere to the following rules:

• Possess a valid permit and must present the permit when asked.
• Solicitation is permitted only between the hours of 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
• Solicitors must respect posted "No Soliciting" signs.
• They must promptly leave upon resident request.

If you encounter a solicitor without permit or who fails to comply with these regulations, please contact the Mt. Vernon Police Department at 618-242-2727. Your cooperation helps maintain the safety and tranquility of our community.
