Warming Shelter Closing Operations

Mt. Vernon, IL - January 8, 2025 - The warming shelter at the Rolland Lewis
Community Building, 800 S. 2t11 Street, Mt. Vernon is official closed. Over the last 36
hours there has been no additional need beyond those that were already utilizing the
shelter. All individuals that were using the shelter have been provided with new
accommodations.

We would like to thank Jefferson County EMA, Mt. Vernon EMA, United Way and all
the volunteers for their assistance during this time.
