Laborer

Position Type: Temporary

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, 7 a.m. - 4 p.m., may require evening and weekends

Salary: $23.10 w/CDL, $18.48 no CDL

Department: Public Works

Applicants must be able to lift 80 lbs. and perform physical labor in inclement weather. Candidates with CDL License and experience with concrete, carpentry, mowing, electrical, welding, plumbing, janitorial, and mechanics are preferred. No benefits. Applications on file less than one year will be considered. Residency within Jefferson County, Illinois required. Subject to basic reading test, background checks and medical assessment with drug screen.

Assistant Director of Public Works

Position Type: Full Time

Hours of Work: Office hours are Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Some evenings and weekends maybe required

Salary: $75,000 - $80,000

Department: Public Works Department

Applicants must have expert communication, strong organizational, project management, leadership, and budgeting skills, and a commitment to citizen service and community involvement, budgeting skills, and other job-related skills. Must be able to demonstrate courtesy and excellent communication skills with elected officials, city employees, and residents. Valid CDL. Residency within Jefferson County, Illinois required.
