Spring Leaf Burning Dates Announced
The City of Mt. Vernon invests a significant amount of funding every year into projects to maintain and repair miles of city roads. The Streets Division of the Public Works Department performs maintenance to streets and alleys, including minor patches and potholes. Contractors are often hired for larger or more specialized projects.
While the city and its contractors do their best to keep roads safe and traffic moving, backups can still occur. Please plan ahead and consider using alternate routes. Below is a list of scheduled projects and temporary road closures.
Please note that this may not be a complete list of road projects as emergency repairs may come up.
