Tourism Advisory Board
The Tourism Board serves in an advisory capacity to the City Manager and the City Council in the expenditure of funds and in the operation of the Tourism Department.
Overview
The Tourism Advisory Board was established by Article 2 Section 2.11 of the Mt. Vernon Revised Code of Ordinances. The commission consists of nine appointed members and 3 non-voting ex officio members. The nine appointed members serve a three-year term and are appointed by the Mayor with the advice of the City Council. The ex officio members consist of the Mayor of Mt. Vernon, Chairman of the Jefferson County Board and the President of the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce.
